- Euler Made important and influential discoveries in many branches of mathematics, such as infinitesimal calculus and graph theory, while also making pioneering contributions to several branches such as topology and analytic number theory.
- He is also known for his work in mechanics, fluid dynamics, optics, astronomy, and music theory.
- Euler is the only mathematician to have two numbers named after him: the important Euler's number in calculus, e, approximately equal to 2.71828, and the Euler–Mascheroni constant γ (gamma) sometimes referred to as just "Euler's constant", approximately equal to 0.57721.
- A planet is named after him (2002 Euler, a minor planet)
